Team mission

The HP EMEA Communications team is responsible for cultivating and maintaining strong, proactive, two-way relationships with key media, analysts and bloggers that drive positive assessments and coverage for HP overall.

Overall role:

Based in Russia, the Communications Manager is responsible for managing and supporting the delivery of all communications plans for HP’s fastest growing Eastern European countries: Russia, Poland, Czeck/Slovakia, Israel.

The role is dynamic and will include an emphasis on external comms/public relations, issues management, thought leader programming, executive communications and product launch programming. It will also include support of regional and local events, tradeshows and customer/partner press events.

The Communications Manager is responsible for implementing an overall integrated communications strategy to support HP's business goals and reputation. He/she is accountable for the PR plan, activities and results and acts as a single point of contact for all engagements with the press. The role provides strategic counsel to their local executive team in developing and delivering communications for external audiences. 

The communications manager will manage remotely the country PR agencies and work closely with the local HP teams. He/she will also be responsible for effective and tight budget management, ensuring that plans come in within the allocated budget. He/she will work closely with their Communication Manager peers across EMEA to ensure best practice is shared and collaboration is maximized.

The Communications Manager has exceptional communication skills and an ability to influence at all levels. This person serves as strategic counsel for sub-region business leaders or subject matter experts and defines and manages the execution of the sub-region plan for a specific theme or business area.

An essential component of the role is to successfully lead in a complex matrix environment with demanding stakeholders in sub-region countries. The position demands flexibility and the capacity to deal with fast-changing situations as well as having the personality and skills to work with a diverse virtual team. 

The applicant will need to have:

  • 5-7 years experiences in a Corporate communications role, ideally in the IT industry. 
  • Technical skills including but not limited to communications planning, (both strategic and tactical); writing; media relations; market understanding and handling of senior management will all need to be strong.

The role will mainly be based at the HP office in Moscow. Occasional international travel will be required.
